The book "The Prophet's Wives" (peace and blessings be upon Him) is an immense contribution to theacquisition of Science. It gives us an idea of the importance of the " Mothers of the Believers " at the heart of our community. This book, written by Ibn 'Asakir in the 6th century A.H., was written to honor them.

Denigrated and attacked on all sides by sects and enemies of the Sunnah, this book is here to notify their ranks. It also highlights their immense rewards here below and in the hereafter.

The special status of the Prophet's (PBUH) wives

Time has shown that the detractors of the Muslim religion have slandered the Prophet's wives. They have a special status for us Muslims. Some, like Aisha or Zaynab (May Allah be pleased with them), are implicitly referred to in Quranic verses:

  • "Those who brought the false rumor are a group of you" (Sura Al Nour verse 11).

Allusion made to thestory of the necklace in which Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) was directly exonerated by Allah's Word.

  • When you said to the one whom Allah had blessed, just as you had blessed him: "Keep for yourself your Wife" (Sura Al Ahzab verse 37).

This verse refers to Zaynab Bint Jahsh, where Allah granted his Prophet her hand.

Understand, then, that these have a very important place for Ahlou Sunnah wa Al Jama'ah.
